The Traveling Nature Class provides useful and age appropriate teaching materials that can be used to turn a Traveling Nature Class visit into a week long experience. We provide lesson guides and worksheets to teach the children key terms, concepts and facts about the animals. Additionally, we have brought to life several of the animals presented in the class through a series of short fictional stories. Each story is not only fun to read, but full of educational facts about the animals. A list of questions is provided at the end of each story. These stories can be used to introduce the animals prior to our visit. Our website also includes Animal Ambassador profiles, outlining pertinent, interesting facts about each species which can be downloaded as PDFs. We are passionate about instilling a love of reading in children, and encourage reading-aged children to visit their libraries to learn more about their favorite animals. We have also assembled a list of our favorite animal themed children’s storybooks, and included this list on our website. This “best of the best” list has been assembled over time based on recommendations from teachers, parents and children.
